Q. Where am I supposed to put
all this stuff I just downloaded?
A. Depends. Skins go to Game Data/Skins (not
in subfolders, just under Skins.
Walls & Floors go to Game Data/Walls or Gama Data/Floors.
Objects go to The Sims/Downloads (or The Sims/Downloads/DeviantSim if you want
to
remember where you got your stuff from).
Houses go into UserDataXX where XX is the neighborhood number you're putting the
house (make
sure you're not overwriting a beloved family!)
Animations contain explicit instructions in the readme.

Q. Your objects are crashing
my game. What should I do?
A. It is most likely that you need to change
the id using a program such as Object
ID.
It is a fairly simple program that is easy to learn. Occasionally our files will
cause conflicts;
you use our objects in your own game at your own risk.

Q. What is/What do I do with the 'DS_store'
file I found in my zip?
A. When a Mac user zips up a folder, the OS often
creates a 'hidden' file which stores information about
the folder that got zipped. When a Windows user (or Mac user running a VPC)
opens a zip that was zipped on
the Mac OS, that hidden file is often visible...and it's called 'DS_store'.
The file can be thrown away,
it is not needed in the game. (it also won't hurt your game if it accidentally
gets in). In this case 'DS'
does NOT stand for 'Deviant Sim'....at least, not so far as we know......

these files,

Files
which are created by the Mac OS X Finder.)

Q. The animations don't
work!
A. Before you post somewhere explaining how
you can't get the animations to work, read ALL
the information available at M&M Needful Things Yahoo Group & ALL the
readme's included
with the animations. *Note: if you are using the most recent Love Chair
animations by Raeven,
our objects may not be compatible. Sorry! If the old ones are working for you,
you're fine.

|
Q. Do Sims1 objects work
with the Sims2 game?
A. Nope.
|
|
Q. Can I clone your stuff?
A. Objects in our "bases" section
are free to clone, provided you do not charge for them and
provide a link back to our site. All other cloning policies are retained by the
creator of the original
works our objects are based off of. Please respect the rights of artists by not
claiming others' works as your own.
For original DS objects and meshes, please just ask us! We'll probably say yes.
Don't forget to
read readme's, they often contain important info.

|
Q. I have a question you don't
answer here.
A. Too bad! No, just kidding...send us an
email if you must, look on our staff page for info; or
join one of our Yahoo Groups (click here for links) and
ask your question there.
