Stepping
inside the hotel lobby, Orlando put his arm around Charlie's waist and
pulled her close. "Remember, you're my date tonight, Luv! No
sneaking off to shag Elijah or whoever strikes your fancy tonight,"
he whispered in her ear. Charlie
slipped an arm around Orli giving him a gentle squeeze.
"Of course luv, tonight I'm all yours."
She whispers back to him, nuzzling the hollow just behind his ear
with her nose. Her 5'10" frame was clothed in a grey pinstripe
suit, mannishly cut. Her hair tips were uncolored tonight, just the
peroxide white that she had between changes. She wore a black silk shirt
under the suit jacket and was wearing men's wing tip shoes. Orlando
was wearing black pants with silver metallic threads shot through the
material and a loose poet's shirt that opened to his navel. As he moved
the shirt would open enough to occasionally reveal his nipple ring.
"Two for Orlando Bloom," he said silkily. Viggo
groaned and trudged toward the stage where he picked up the microphone
and pulled up a stool and sat down on it, as he told them he wanted a
Josh Groban song. His voice was soothing, almost like rich chocolate
that had been warmed on the stove on a cold winter's day. "Who
can say for certain. Maybe you're still here... I feel you all around
me... Your memory's so clear..." Elijah
and Liv had watched the previous performance in stunned amazement, but
now their expressions reflected pure pleasure as they listened to Viggo
sing in rich tones. "Now I understand what Hugo was up to,"
mused Liv. ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ "Deep
in the stillness I can hear you speak... You're still an inspiration,
can it be?" Viggo's voice became silky smooth and deeper in
tone, rich like cream and seductive in pitch. "That you are
my... forever love... and you are watching over me from up above." Stepping
into the brilliant ballroom, Orlando and Charlie stopped for a moment,
blinking to clear their sight. Charlie's emerald gaze surveyed the room.
I hope that Orli will have fun tonight and not worry over the stuff
that's been plaguing his mind, she thought. She looked around for
Elijah, then noticed that Orlando had stiffened up next to her. Holding
his arm tighter, she asked, "What is it, Luv? Are you
alright?" Viggo's
voice went up an octave though his eyes were closed as he continued to
sing, "Fly me up, to where you are... Beyond the distant star. I
wish upon tonight, to see you smile..." he took a deep breath,
"If only for awhile to know you're there... a breath away's not
far to where you are.." Orlando's
breath caught in his throat of Viggo sitting there on a stool singing
Josh Groban. It was a song that he had bugged Viggo to sing to him when
they were together and he had finally done it one night when Orlando was
upset about how the day's filming had gone. Hearing that song again in
Viggo's lush tones was sending shockwaves down his spinal column. He
gripped Charlie that much tighter around her waist. "Orli,
you're scaring me. What's wrong?" Charlie's voice went deeper, as
it always did when she was distressed. Orlando
pointed towards the stool where Viggo was seated. He continued singing,
his voice dropping to a near whisper, "Are you gently
sleeping... Here inside my dream, And isn't faith believing... All power
can't be seen." He glanced to the lyric screen and then looked
up and noticed them together. And he stared directly at Orlando as he
sang the next verse, "As my heart holds you, just one beat away,
I cherish all you gave me everyday... Cause you are my... forever love,
Watching me from up above... And I believe, that angels breathe, And
that love will live on and never leave..." Charlie
followed the line of Orlando's arm and saw Viggo singing to him. Her
protective instincts flared up and she glared at the man singing. Viggo's
voice swelled upwards with the music and he took the song to the heights
of his abilities. His voiced moved into the tenor range as he sang,
"Fly me up... to where you are, Beyond the distant star. I wish
upon tonight to see you smile. If only for awhile to know you're
there... A breath away's not far to where you are..." His eyes
closed again as he took a deep breath. "I know you're there..."
his eyes opened and stared straight at Orli. "A breaths away's
not far to where you are..." He held that note for a few
beats and then let it fade out as the entire group, minus two began to
applaud. He bowed slightly, smiled grimly at Orlando and then headed
straight to the bar. "Are
you okay, Orli? Should we just leave?" Charlie asked worriedly. Elijah
smiled at Viggo as he walked up to the bar, "That was beautiful
Viggo. I am glad I got to hear it." Liv nodded her agreement,
kissed Viggo's cheek and moved off to bother Billy and Dom for awhile. Viggo
grinned but didn't take his eyes off of Orlando's face. "I sang it
once for Orli, when he was feeling kind of bummed. It made him happy...
I guess," he said. He finally turned, leaned on the bar and ordered
another drink. Orlando
turned to face her and shook his head, "No... I... I'm okay... Hey,
I see Hugo, think I'm going to go over, come on, I'll introduce
you." As they headed in that direction, he could feel Legolas'
spirit inside him becoming upset and agitated. Orlando struggled to keep
his spirit here and not change in the middle of this room. Elijah
smiled at Viggo, "Yeah, I can see that, it would make me happy to
have someone who loved me sing that to me." His eyes strayed to
where Charlie was crossing the room and he blushed slightly. Charlie
frowned as she felt the tension in the arm she was clinging to. Hugo
smiled at them as they approached, "Orli, it's great to see you.
You look really good." His eyes raked over Charlie and saw the lie
in the outfit immediately, "And who is this lovely lady on your
arm?" Orlando
smiled, "Hugo, meet Charlie, my best friend and confidant. She's
know me since I was what, seven?" He gave her a squeeze around her
slender waist. Viggo
smiled back at Elijah, "He fell asleep in my arms before a fire
when I sang that to him... I'm just... glad he's happy." He
continued, "I think I am going to go for a short walk, I'll be
around." He turned and headed for a balcony doorway. Charlie
smiled at Hugo, who was going out of his way to be charming, "Yes
and I was 5. We shared the bathtub back then I believe." Orlando
clapped his hand over Charlie's mouth and gave Hugo a sheepish smile,
"Don't think he needed quite that much information luv..." Legolas
screamed in frustration within Orlando's mind, He's leaving! Nooo! Orlando
reeled backwards, letting go of Charlie as the world around spun
crazily, I am not going after HIM... he thought to Legolas. Charlie
grabbed him, afraid he was going to fall, "Orli, luv, what is
it?" Hugo grasped his other arm and they both supported him over to
a seat. It
is him, Orlando. I can feel his spirit calling to me, I must talk to
him. Please... Legolas
was frantic at the sight of Viggo approaching a doorway. Orlando
sank gratefully into the seat, "I'm alright, just got a little
dizzy for a bleedin’' second." Then he thought at Legolas, No...
absolutely not... I am not going to argue this point with you, Legolas...
Please, just let him go... He glanced up and read the concern in
both Hugo and Charlie's eyes. Charlie
saw Orlando's eyes changing
colors and then back again as if there were a battle going on inside
him, "Orli, I think we should leave." Legolas
pushed against Orlando's spirit, This is why I am here, this is what
the Valar intended. I must go to him. He felt badly forcing this but
he knew that this was what was needed. "Charlie..."
Orlando whispered as his eyes became fuzzy, then tinted completely with
blue. He turned his head and glanced around with his two-toned eyes, not
speaking as he looked for someone. Viggo
was outside on a balcony simply staring up at the stars and nursing his
drink. He hung his head and nearly cursed his only son for making him
come to this event. It was so hard seeing the slender young man at
Orlando's side and he really just wanted to leave. Legolas
closed his eyes and forced his voice to speak with Orlando's
inflections, "I'll be ok, Charlie, could you get me a wet rag or
something for my bloody head." Charlie
nodded uncertainly, "Yes, of course, I will be right back." Viggo
turned from the balcony and headed back inside, simply thinking to grab
his coat when he saw Orlando rise from a chair and his boyfriend
wandered off in the direction of the restrooms. Scowling, he turned and
headed back out onto the balcony. Legolas
followed Viggo out to the balcony with long graceful strides, "May
I talk to you?" Something
seemed strange to Viggo as he watched his elegant movements, but he
couldn't put his finger on it. Viggo shrugged, "It's a free
country. Sure, if you feel like talking to me, go ahead." Legolas
walked closer to him and studied his face, It is truly remarkable, so
much alike, yet so different. He reached up and touched the auburn
hair, so much shorter and straighter. Then he realized what he was
doing, "I apologize. That was impertinent of me." Viggo
caught the fingers that slid through his hair. He didn't want to
remember happier times when Orlando loved playing with his hair. He
asked softly, "What about Charlie?" "Charlie
is a charming individual with great passions, I would trust Charlie with
my life," Legolas shook his hair, he was truly enjoying being in
control of a body again. Legolas looked deep into Viggo's eyes and
licked his lips absently. "But Charlie is not mine to worry about,
that is Elijah's problem," Legolas hesitated for a moment. Then he
shrugged his shoulder and gave a laugh that rippled like water in a
stream, I have nothing to fear, this man cannot hurt me. The way
he was staring at Legolas took his breath away though. He laughed again
for the sheer joy of feeling, of having senses that were acute and
undulled emotions, "Might I know your name? It is so uncomfortable
not knowing how to address one." Viggo
pondered the information about Charlie and then took a step backwards as
Orlando asked who he was, "You don't..." he sighed deeply,
"I'm sorry... for everything. I'm sorry for being a wanker. I'm
sorry for being so cruel and not thinking of you, Angel... I'm just
sorry, I'm a sorry man and an even sorrier person for hurting the man I
love more than my own life. I can't apologize enough for hurting you,
and I don't expect you to forgive me..." he said, he was not sure
what was going on, but continued anyway, "And as for Charlie, I'm
just glad you three are happy... in whatever sort of arrangement you
have." Legolas
suddenly realized that Orlando must know this man very well and he had
hurt him by asking for his name. Legolas put his hand on the man's cheek
and said softly, "I forgive you. Life is too fleeting for me to
carry grudges." Viggo
looked stunned, as the touch of Orlando's hand to his cheek sent a
whirlwind of desire and love spiraling without control through his body,
"Who are you? You seem so much wiser now than I remember... Are you
playing with me, Orlando? Because if you are, I'm not in the mood for
this." Legolas
focused on the pale green eyes totally, "I have lived long enough
to gain some wisdom, I think. But I do not understand what you mean, am
I playing with you." "You
still hate me for calling you by someone else's name. You wanted to
talk, but talking is not what I want now... you know what it is that I
want, Orlando. I am tired of playing games... If you want to stay with
Charlie and 'Lij, tell me now or else I am walking." Legolas
frowned, confused by this man, "I don't understand. What do you
mean? You called me by whose name? And what is it that you want? What
does Charlie and Elijah have to do with you and me?" "There
is no you and me, Orlando. Not since the day you walked out on me,"
Viggo snarled. "It was my fault, and I'll admit that. But you were
the one who walked out when I wanted to try to work things out. Well you
worked things out alright, went straight to Elijah and Charlie's arms...
that's where you went and... you forgot about me and went to the warm
embrace of not one, but TWO other men!" Pain
lanced through Legolas at the harsh words and he turned to leave. When
he got to the door, he looked around again, "Orlando Bloom did not
go to Elijah and Charlie." Then he started to leave. Viggo
crossed the space and grabbed Orlando's arm, whipping him around to
stare into his eyes which seemed strange somehow, but he couldn't tell
in the dark, "How long did it take? A few days? A month?" he
snarled, his temper flaring. His conscience told his to take a breath
and look at it from another angle, but his flaring temper would not
allow it." "Well, Orli... how long did it take you to forget
me and move on?" "I
did not as you say 'move on.' You are mistaken about Charlie and Elijah.
Their love is for each other. You are offending me," Legolas stared
at this man with his best Prince of Mirkwood manner, scowling fiercely.
"Take your hand off of me. If you were a lesser man, you would be
dead already." Viggo
let him go and then watched as Orlando went inside. The pain he was
feeling made him follow after him, watching as he went straight to
Charlie. Growling low in his throat, he watched the duo for an instant. Legolas
went up to Charlie, who had been watching him enter, "I apologize,
Melethron. I should not have deceived you to speak to that Nadorhuan." Charlie
sighed, "What happened, Legolas? What did he say to make you so
angry?" Viggo
walked up behind Charlie in time to hear the last question. His voice
came out in a growl, "Why don't you bloody ask me yourself, since
you are the one who's he's been sleeping with, you and Elijah. Don't
tell me you haven't, because I know you have." He was speaking
totally in speculation, but he really needed to know. Charlie
whipped her body around, tensed and ready for a fight. She growled low,
"I have not slept with Orlando for five years, pig. And what Elijah
and I do is none of your bloody business. Alright fucker! What did you
do to upset Le... Orlando?" Viggo
got his first good look at Charlie and nearly blanched. "You're
CHARLIE?!" he asked incredulously, looking as if he had been struck
by lightning. "You
can't be Charlie! You're a fucking GIRL!" "Fucking
right, asshole! But I am man enough to fuck YOU over. What did you DO to
him!" Charlie growled into his face. "Why
am I standing here explaining myself to some mere slip of a GIRL? Get
out of my way, I need to talk to Orlando," he said as he gave her
his best, 'Don't fuck with me, Aragorn stare'. Charlie
was not impressed, she returned with her 'it'll take more than that,
sucker' stare and said, "Why don't you make me?" Legolas
said, "Charlie, it's not worth this. I will talk to him." "I
don't need you to stick up for me, " Viggo said, his burning gaze
landing on Orlando for a moment in time. "I can move this little
girl easily," he said as he reached out and took Charlie's arm in
his hand, intent on a GENTLE removal. Charlie
reacted swiftly, grabbing his wrist. Pulling it toward her, she twisted
it until his body turned and was flush with hers... her back to his
chest. And then she heaved his weight up and over her shoulder, bending
with the motion as the momentum carried him over. He landed on the floor
with a heavy thud and lay there stunned. She placed her foot upon his
heaving chest and said, "Don't fuck with my Orli!" He
groaned as his ass and back hit the floor and there were several gasps
from the crowd. "Get your foot off of my chest and I will fuckin
go. It's what he wants and what you obviously want as well." Legolas
threw himself down on the floor next to Viggo and ran his hand down his
body looking for injuries. Legolas touched Charlie's leg, "Mellon,
amin sinta thaliolle edagor." He caught himself and translated,
"Charlie, I know your strength. You are a good friend to have at my
side, but he is my heart. I must go with him." She
glanced down at Legolas and purposefully ground the heel of her shoe
deeper into Viggo's chest, eliciting a groan. "I don't want you
going anywhere with him, he doesn't fucking deserve you..." she
growled, her eyes narrowing dangerously as she focused on Viggo's face,
"And guess what? HE fucking knows it." Elijah
moved closer so he could see past the crowd of people that had gathered
around. He was horrified to see Viggo on the floor pinned by Charlie's
foot. He moved to stand next to Charlie, "My love, don't you think
you should let him up." Elijah's voice was gentle and expressed
great love for her. Charlie
actually pouted. "Awww, do I have to?" she purred in response
as she ground in her heel just a little bit more. "He doesn't
deserve Orlando and I don't want to see Orli hurt anymore," she
said softly, folding her arms over her now bent knee and staring
menacingly into Viggo's eyes. Legolas
looked up at Charlie with blue-soaked eyes, "Charlie, you cannot
protect us forever. The fate that you foretold is upon us. The Valar are
awaiting. Charlie, they do not like to be kept waiting." Charlie
nodded reluctantly, "You're right, but let me tell you one last
thing, Mr. Mortensen... If you hurt him, I am warning you right now. I
will put you in intensive care, minus what makes you a man... Am I
clear?" She waited for him to nod, before moving her foot. She then
went to stand next to Elijah and wrapped an arm over his shoulder. Viggo
climbed to his feet, rubbing his chest ruefully. He looked warily at
Orlando, who had spoken in fluent Elvish, then said something about the
Valar and fate. Something was up and he wasn't too sure of what it was.
Definitely a puzzle, one that he wanted to solve. Charlie
turned towards Orlando, "Listen... if anything happens, call me and
'Lij, we'll come and get you... and I will bring my favorite piece of
steel," she said, casting a meaningful glance in Viggo's direction.
He swallowed deeply, seeing the murder in her eyes intended for anyone
that messed around with Orlando. Elijah
put his arms around Charlie and hugged her close, "He will be okay,
Charlie. Viggo really does love him." Legolas
touched his cheek with trembling finger, "Lle tyava quel? Can you
walk?" His eyes were filled with unshed tears and he ached for
Viggo's embarrassment. "I'm
fine... just really embarrassed that Charlie flipped me..." he
said, rubbing his ass as he walked towards the large double doors. "She
is an exceptional woman, Ara... um, she is a Maethor, and fiercely loyal
to me. There is no shame. You did not know," Legolas ran his hands
through Viggo's hair, "Where do we go, fair one?" |
